Keto Smash Burger with Guacamole and Roasted Cabbage

Ingredient List

Smash burger

  • 150g ground beef, preferably chuck or (80% lean, 20% fat)

  • salt and ground black pepper

Roasted cabbage

  • 80g green cabbage

  • 1 (3g) teaspoon olive oil

  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Guacamole

  • 1/2 (50g) ripe avocado

  • 1/3 (5g) tablespoon olive oil

  • 10g white onion, finely chopped

  • Squeeze of lemon

  • 15g tomato, diced

  • 10 ml (1 g) fresh cilantro, finely chopped

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • salt and pepper, to taste

Preparation Steps

Smash Burger Preparation

  • Divide the ground beef into two balls per serving, each weighing 75g.

  • Heat a large frying pan over high heat until it is smoking hot.

  • Place the meatballs in the hot pan and press them down with a grill press, spatula, or the bottom of a glass until they are less than 1 cm thick.

  • Season generously with salt and pepper.

  • Fry for about 2 minutes on each side or until the burgers develop a nice brown crust.


Roasted Cabbage Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.

  • Cut the green cabbage into long wedges and remove the thick stem in the middle.

  • Slice the wedges into small pieces around 3 cm wide and place them on a baking sheet or in a large baking dish.

  • Season with salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil.

  • Bake for 20 minutes or until the cabbage is roasted.


Guacamole Preparation

  • Peel the avocados, cut it into small pieces, add the olive oil and mash the mix with a fork.

  • Add the onion, lime juice, tomato, cilantro, and garlic powder.

  • Season with salt and pepper, and mix until well combined.
