Keto Steak with Creamy Mushroom Sauce

Ingredient List

Ingredients are for 2 servings:

The Steak

  • 400 ribeye steaks or fillet, 1 steak (200g) per serving

  • 1.5 (5g) teaspoon butter

  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Mushroom Sauce

  • 1.5 (5g) teaspoon butter

  • 1 garlic clove, crushed

  • 50g mushrooms, sliced (Cremini mushrooms (the brown ones) tastes best, but the white ones are fine)

  • 30g cream cheese (we used philadelphia cheese)

  • 30 ml whipping cream

  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Preparation Steps

Steak

  • Take your steaks out of the fridge and bring them to room temperature.

  • Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel and season generously with salt and pepper.

  • Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat depending on how you like your steak cooked. Add the butter.

  • Place the steaks in the frying pan and fry to your liking: rare, medium, or well done.

  • Remove the meat from the pan, cover, and let set aside to rest while you prepare the sauce.


Mushroom Sauce

  • Lower the heat and add more butter (if necessary) to the same frying pan. Fry the garlic and mushroom slices until golden. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Turn the heat down and add the cream cheese, stirring to avoid any lumps.

  • Add the cream and stir until heated through. Taste and season with more salt and pepper if necessary.
