Ingredients are for 2 servings:
The Steak
400 ribeye steaks or fillet, 1 steak (200g) per serving
1.5 (5g) teaspoon butter
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Mushroom Sauce
1.5 (5g) teaspoon butter
1 garlic clove, crushed
50g mushrooms, sliced (Cremini mushrooms (the brown ones) tastes best, but the white ones are fine)
30g cream cheese (we used philadelphia cheese)
30 ml whipping cream
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Preparation Steps
Steak
Take your steaks out of the fridge and bring them to room temperature.
Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel and season generously with salt and pepper.
Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat depending on how you like your steak cooked. Add the butter.
Place the steaks in the frying pan and fry to your liking: rare, medium, or well done.
Remove the meat from the pan, cover, and let set aside to rest while you prepare the sauce.
Mushroom Sauce
Lower the heat and add more butter (if necessary) to the same frying pan. Fry the garlic and mushroom slices until golden. Season with salt and pepper.
Turn the heat down and add the cream cheese, stirring to avoid any lumps.
Add the cream and stir until heated through. Taste and season with more salt and pepper if necessary.
